Kaduna State Government has approved 1st February 2021 as resumption date for SS3, JSS3 and JSS1 for public and private schools in the state.

The state Government also approved primary 6, 5 and 4 of private schools only, to resume on the same day.

A statement signed by Phoebe Sukai Yayi, Permanent Secretary, Kaduna State Ministry of Education, says all principals and Head Teachers should begin arrangements to receive Boarding and Day students scheduled to resume on Monday, 1st February, 2021.

According to the statement, the state covid-19 Task Force will continue to monitor all schools to ensure compliance to protocols and safe learning environment against the pandemic.

Sukai says any violation in complying with the guidelines issued by the state government may lead to the closure of the affected school without any notice.

The statement further notes that schools will be on shift to enable them meet with the guidelines, stating that first shift will run from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon, while second shift will be from 01:00 pm to 05:00 pm.

Students and pupils should not exceed 20 per normal class with 1.5m to 2.0m physical distance, says the statement.

Sukai further notes that appropriate resumption for the rest of the classes (SS2, SS1 and JSS2 in public and private schools and primary 3, 2, 1 and nursery classes) will be announced in due course, subject to school’s compliance with guidelines in place.
